IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ: If you received an email or text message from ParentSquare you can go ahead and sign into your ParentSquare account on a computer or from the app on your mobile device (Please download and install the app from your device’s app store).

  • You will be asked to verify your details such as an email verification and/or phone texting verification
  • This is how you activate/register your account to be able to use the full features of ParentSquare once those features go “live.”

How We Communicate

Hallettsville ISD now uses ParentSquare for school communication primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically syncs with Skyward to generate an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home.

Q: What Does ParentSquare Do?

ParentSquare (Opens in new window) is a unified communication platform that offers a whole host of tools which allows district, school administrators and teachers to more effectively communicate and engage with families and students.

All parents will receive basic closure/delay alerts, an end of day “digest” emailed to parents, and emergency notifications from the school via phone, email, text or app notification.

But only parents who activate/register their ParentSquare account will be able to have true 2-way communication for the following examples:

  • Receive messages from the school via phone, email, text or app notification
  • Choose to receive information as it comes...or all at once with a daily digest at 6 p.m.
  • Communicate in your preferred language: ParentSquare auto-translates the message
  • Comment on school postings to engage with your school community
  • DIRECT MESSAGING with teachers, staff and other parents

ParentSquare Information & Resources

NOTE: You must be logged into your ParentSquare account to view the some of the items below.

  • On the app, enter your email or cell phone number. The email and/or cell phone number should match what is in the school's information system (Skyward).

    On the web, click ‘Sign In’, then under ‘Register’ section, put your email or phone number and click '“Go”.

    If the email or phone number is not recognized by ParentSquare, parents can follow directions to request access or call the school office and ask them to update the contact information.

    Parents can update their language preference for their account. Once they have done this, ParentSquare will automatically translate any communication to them in their selected language. This translation will also occur when the parent sends a message to a staff member.

  • ParentSquare allows users to customize their notifications based on notification type and select their preferred delivery method for each school. The Instant setting will send all post notifications in real-time. The Digest setting sends direct messages, alerts, and time-sensitive posts instantly, but sends all non-time sensitive posts at the end of the day, reducing the number of notifications you receive daily. We recommend the Digest setting.

  • Yes. All HISD parents have a ParentSquare account already created for them by HISD using a daily sync between ParentSquare and Skyward, which is HISD’s Student Information System—This is how the ParentSquare platform is able to contact you.

    ParentSquare is the primary tool for District and school communication. Individuals who do not activate their account in ParentSquare will still receive an email digest at the end of each day that communication is sent out to them.

    Activate/Register your ParentSquare account to be able to use the full array of tools, such as DIRECT MESSAGING between you and your student’s teacher(s)…and many more helpful tools!

  • Yes. The following tools and services may no longer be available for AISD Schools to use:

    • ClassDojo
    • Remind 101
    • BlackBoard

    The functionality of these tools will be available in ParentSquare. Individual schools will communicate with parents on the availability of other communications tools.

  • 1. Activate Your Account
    Click the link in your activation email/text, or sign up via a computer at 
    https://www.parentsquare.com/signin (Opens in new window) or via the ParentSquare app.

    2. Download App
    It’s easy to stay in the loop with the ParentSquare app. Download it now and use it on your mobile devices.

    3. Set Preferences
    Click your name in the top right to set your notification and language preferences.

    4. Get Photos & Files
    Click ‘Photos & Files’ in sidebar to access pictures, forms, and documents that have been shared with you.

    5. Appreciate Posts
    Click ‘Appreciate’ in your email/app or website to thank a teacher or staff member for a post.

    6. Comment or Reply
    Click ‘Comment’ in app or website to privately ask a question about the post that your teacher or school sent.

    7. Participate
    Click ‘Sign Ups & RSVPs’ in the sidebar to see available opportunities. Click bell on top to check your commitments.

    8. Join a Group
    Click ‘Groups’ in the sidebar to join a group or committee at your school to participate or to stay up to-date.

    9. Find People
    Click ‘Directory’ in the sidebar to find contact information for school staff.

    10. Get in Touch
    Click ‘Messages’ in the sidebar to privately get in touch with staff and teachers.

  • Click the “Unsubscribe” link on your email from ParentSquare or reply STOP to the SMS from ParentSquare to stop notifications to your email or phone.

    If the email or phone number is not recognized by ParentSquare, parents can call the school office attendance/registar’s clerk and ask them to update the contact information.
